Korean retail investors are flooding into Japanese semiconductor stocks, with Murata Manufacturing and Tokyo Electron ranking as the top two net purchases
According to Odaily, data from the Korea Securities Depository shows that from August 3 to 14, Korean investors' capital allocation to Japanese stocks has refocused on the semiconductor supply chain, with 12 of the top 20 net-purchased Japanese stocks being semiconductor-related targets. Among them, Murata Manufacturing and Tokyo Electron ranked first and second with net purchases of approximately $5.319 million and $2.262 million, respectively. Six semiconductor and electronic component-related stocks and ETFs in the top ten net purchases received a combined net inflow of about $14.367 million, accounting for roughly 73% of the total net purchases in the top ten.
Meanwhile, after a sharp decline of about 48% in July, NAND maker Kioxia has rebounded approximately 16% so far this month as of the 14th. Korean investors have begun taking profits, with cumulative net selling of about $3.745 million from August 3 to 14.
