Bitcoin advocate Samson Mow: BIP-110 only has support from some nodes, lacking the three-pronged support base that BIP-148 had in 2017

2026-08-11 13:01

Odaily News: Bitcoin advocate Samson Mow stated in a post that comparing BIP-110 to BIP-148 from 2017 is not accurate. BIP-148 at the time gained participation from developers, exchanges, wallets, miners, and large holders, securing support across economic weight, hash power, and node consensus. In contrast, BIP-110 currently primarily receives support only from a subset of nodes. Mow also noted that SegWit was ultimately adopted by miners through BIP-141 via BIP-91, and while BIP-148 formed a credible threat, it never actually underwent a chain split test. MicroStrategy founder Michael Saylor reposted the post.
