Odaily Planet Daily News The Kazakh government has approved the “Rules for Implementing Strategic Digital Mining,” allowing enterprises to obtain power quotas from energy-producing organizations at the highest tariff rates for a period of 10 years. As a condition for obtaining the quota, enterprises must transfer a portion of the cryptocurrency from their mining output to the Astana Hub Autonomous Cluster Fund. Subsequently, the relevant assets will be handed over to the National Investment Company under the National Bank for trust management, to be used to replenish the national strategic cryptocurrency reserve. Operators participating in strategic digital mining must submit applications through the E-licensing database, which will be reviewed and approved by a special commission. If approved, digital miners must sign an agreement with the Astana Hub Autonomous Cluster Fund within five working days and conclude an electricity purchase and sale contract with the energy-producing organization.
