黑客入侵肯尼亚总统官网索要5枚比特币赎金,现已启动调查
Odaily Planet Daily News: The Kenyan government is investigating the hacking incident on July 18 of the official website of President William Ruto. Attackers temporarily paralyzed president.go.ke and defaced the homepage, demanding a ransom of 5 Bitcoin, threatening to leak unspecified information before Saturday evening if the demand is not met. William Kabogo, Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, stated that the government's ICT Authority has immediately activated its cybersecurity response protocol. To contain the incident and conduct a forensic investigation, authorities have temporarily restricted public access to the portal. Currently, there is no evidence of unauthorized access to sensitive data, data breach, or information loss. Government systems and digital services remain secure and operational.
It is reported that a Hong Kong technical team is cooperating with external technical partners to restore the page and identify the cause of the security perimeter breach. Earlier this year, over the span of three months, Kenya's critical infrastructure and government systems faced billions of cyber threats. The country is currently advancing the standardization of national cybercrime investigations. (News.bitcoin)
