Iranian Lawmaker: US Must Recognize Iran's Authority in the Strait of Hormuz

After Iran's Revolutionary Guard announced strikes on 85 US military facilities in the region, a senior Iranian lawmaker stated that the United States must "recognize the new management system of the Strait of Hormuz." According to official media reports, Ebrahim Azizi, Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, made the remarks on social media in response to the Revolutionary Guard's announcement of a so-called "initial response" to US acts of aggression. He stated: "There is no other way: the new Iranian system in the Strait of Hormuz must be acknowledged."
