Odaily News At the second plenary session of the Fourth Session of the 14th National People's Congress held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on the morning of the 9th, Zhang Jun, President of the Supreme People's Court, delivered the work report of the Supreme People's Court. The report shows that over the past five years, 9,326 cases involving 22,000 individuals in crimes endangering cybersecurity were concluded, an increase of 158.5% (in terms of case numbers) compared to the previous five-year period. Crimes such as online rumors, online pyramid schemes, and cyberbullying were punished according to law, promoting comprehensive governance of cyberspace security. Two young individuals who maliciously engaged in "doxxing," illegally obtaining and disseminating others' private information, were convicted and sentenced according to law. Crimes such as money laundering and evasion of foreign exchange using virtual currency as a medium were strictly punished, cooperating to prevent illegal cross-border transfer of funds. It was clarified that drivers who activate assisted driving functions while intoxicated should still bear criminal responsibility, emphasizing that the application of technology must adhere to the bottom line of the law.
