Mu Changchun: Digital RMB needs reform and upgrading in theory and practice
2hours ago
According to Odaily Planet Daily, Mu Changchun, director of the Digital Currency Research Institute of the People's Bank of China, stated that the digital RMB needs to be reformed and upgraded both theoretically and practically. At the macro level, the ability to generate currency derivatives needs to be enhanced, while at the micro level, the responsibilities and rights of all parties must be aligned. He pointed out that if residents and businesses hold non-interest-bearing assets for a long time, the time value of money will be lost. In the future, technical means such as currency strings and a globally unified ledger will be used to provide more comprehensive monetary services for the real economy. (China Finance 40 Forum)
