According to an interview video released by Delphi Digital, Pump.fun co-founder Noah (@sapijiju) stated that the team experienced nine failed attempts before successfully launching Pump.fun, including an NFT launch platform, an NFT AMM, tokenized creator financing, an auditor profit mechanism, and a FriendTech fork, all of which failed. Lacking large-scale financing, the team relied on a small number of angel investors for support, and it wasn't until the ninth attempt that they seized the market opportunity with Pump.fun.
He also pointed out that Pump.fun's design actually incorporates elements of previously failed products. Noah also criticized the current lack of truly successful companies in the crypto industry, calling Coinbase a "failed company," arguing that its founder Brian Armstrong's contribution was solely in commercializing Bitcoin wallets.
