Polkadot DAO proposes to cap total DOT supply at 2.1 billion

Odaily Planet Daily reports that the Polkadot Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) passed referendum No. 1710 with 81% approval, capping the total supply of DOT tokens at 2.1 billion. This proposal will replace the previous fixed annual issuance of 120 million DOTs with no cap, and will instead slow the issuance by gradually reducing the number of new DOTs every two years.
