Odaily News The U.S. Department of Justice has filed a civil forfeiture lawsuit seeking to seize $7.74 million worth of cryptocurrency laundered by North Korean IT workers through fraudulent employment at companies in the United States and abroad. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, North Korean IT workers used false or fraudulently obtained identities to work at U.S. cryptocurrency companies, were paid in stablecoins, and then laundered the money through various means and transferred the proceeds back to North Korea.
