Trump's use of the presidential seal at the TRUMP dinner may violate federal law
Odaily News U.S. President Trump flew from the White House to his golf club in Virginia on Thursday night by military helicopter to attend his private TRUMP dinner, but used the official presidential seal on the event invitations and venue decorations, including using a podium decorated with the presidential seal to address his TRUMP token investors, which may have violated U.S. federal law.
Under federal law, the national emblem cannot be used in a way that could "convey the false impression of government sponsorship or endorsement," and violators could face fines or up to six months in prison.
Earlier, when asked whether the government would release the guest list, White House press secretary Carolyn Levitt said, "The president is attending in a personal capacity. This is not a White House dinner, and it is not held in the White House." (Forbes)
