ETH/BTC exchange rate falls to five-year low, SOL outperforms Ethereum significantly in 2025
Odaily News Ethereum is underperforming Bitcoin for the first time since Bitcoin’s block reward halving last year. The ETH/BTC exchange rate fell to a five-year low of $0.02193. Ethereum is down 39% against Bitcoin this year. In May 2020, Ethereum was trading around $200 and Bitcoin was just under $10,000. Today, Ethereum is trading around $1,800 and Bitcoin is trading around $82,000. The current downturn echoes its poor performance in 2019, further highlighting Ethereum’s relative weakness, especially compared to other first-layer assets. The SOL/ETH exchange rate is up 24% year to date, trading at $0.07007. This suggests that despite the SOL token itself being down 35% year to date, SOL could still significantly outperform Ethereum in 2025. (CoinDesk)
