Odaily News Metaplanet, a Japanese listed company, announced the issuance of 2 billion yen (about 12.7 million U.S. dollars) of interest-free ordinary bonds to purchase additional Bitcoin. The move aims to further strengthen its Bitcoin reserves as a strategic asset to hedge against the risk of yen depreciation and inflation. Metaplanet has previously purchased Bitcoin several times, showing its firm confidence in cryptocurrency as a long-term value storage tool.
