US Customs steps up crackdown on ASIC mining machines

Odaily News The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is increasing its efforts to seize Bitcoin ASIC mining machines. In addition to Bitmain, MicroBT and Canaan devices have also been included in the seizure list. CBP seized Bitmain Antminer S21 and T21 mining machines last year, suspected of containing AI chips from restricted chip manufacturer Sophgo. This seizure is based on 19 USC 1595a(c)(2)(A) regulations, involving unauthorized communications equipment and equipment not certified by the FCC. (Blockspace)
