Equation Founder Vida Sells Nearly $7 Million in Put Options, Majority to Expire in One Month
Odaily reported that Vida stated on X platform today that they sold nearly $7 million in put options, with the majority set to expire in one month. They noted that the current decline in the storage sector is, at least sentiment-wise, approaching its limit, and the implied volatility of storage stocks is at its highest historical percentile; demand related to AI continues, and the fundamentals remain unchanged. Regarding the sale of options at "prices that are difficult to trade" rather than prices closer to the current market, Vida said they prefer lower risk and more stable returns. Citing the MU 660 put option expiring in one month as an example, they stated that selling 15 contracts now could yield an immediate profit of $47,000. If MU falls below 660 in one month and triggers delivery, they will buy them for $1 million.
