Odaily News “This is one of the first things we’re going to be looking at as a working group within the government,” crypto czar David Sacks said of potential Bitcoin reserves during a press conference in Washington on Tuesday. “We’re still waiting for some of the cabinet members on the working group to be confirmed, so it’s still in a very early stage. But it’s one of the first things we’re going to be looking at.”
Asked how the cryptocurrency industry would be involved in the White House effort, Sacks said: “We will be issuing a statement at some point authorizing some type of engagement with the industry.”
Republican lawmakers attended a press conference with Sacks to announce that Congress is forming a bicameral working group to develop cryptocurrency regulations. He met with Republican lawmakers, including Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott, Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman John Boozman, and House Financial Services Committee Chairman French Hill and House Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn Thompson. Earlier news, crypto czar David Sacks said that he was studying the feasibility of Bitcoin reserves and could not give any answer on "whether sovereign wealth funds hold cryptocurrencies."
