Because a16z is worried about brand confusion, ai16z has changed its name to ElizaOS
Odaily News Artificial intelligence decentralized autonomous organization ai16z has changed its name to ElizaOS due to a16z's concerns about brand confusion.
Shaw Walters, founder of Eliza Labs, recently posted an update on ai16z’s Discord server, positioning the change as a pivot point moving forward.
"As we continue to expand in multiple countries, develop our core technology, and foster an incredible community of builders, we are implementing a comprehensive rebranding plan for ElizaOS," Walters wrote. While he did not elaborate on the reason for the name change, Chris Dixon, managing partner of a16z, said in an interview that the similarities between the two entities "caused some confusion," saying: "I believe they are revising it. We have asked them to do so." (Decrypt)
