2025-01-22 03:24

Odaily News Trump said on the 21st that former President Biden left him a "friendly" letter on the "Resolute Desk" (presidential desk) in the White House, continuing the tradition of the inauguration day.
Trump told reporters that he opened the letter on the evening of the 20th and considered making it public. He said Biden advised him to enjoy his term and emphasized the importance of the role.
"It says 'To Number 47,'" Trump said. "It's a very nice one. ... It's just an inspirational letter, basically. Enjoy it and do a good job. It's a very important job." Trump said he felt he should let the public see the letter because it was "positive" for Biden.

Trump left a letter to his successor Biden in January 2021. Biden said it was a "very generous" letter, but never made the contents of the letter public. (Jin Shi)
