Amazon develops AI model for video, reduces reliance on Anthropic

Odaily News Amazon has developed new generative AI that can process images and videos in addition to text, according to a person familiar with the matter and two people who have spoken with Amazon about its plans. The model can help customers search video archives for certain scenes, such as a winning shot in basketball, using simple text prompts. In developing the new model, Amazon has shown that it still hopes its internally developed AI will appeal to its cloud customers, thereby reducing its reliance on Anthropic AI, whose Claude chatbot is now a popular product on Amazon Web Services. Amazon said last week it would double its investment in Anthropic to $8 billion. (The Information)
