Ripple misses deadline to file SEC lawsuit, court grants 14-day extension

2024-10-23 01:14
Odaily News Earlier today, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit issued a notice of default to Ripple's legal team for missing the deadline to submit confirmation and notice of appearance forms related to the SEC lawsuit, which was due on October 18, 2024. The court has granted Ripple a 14-day extension, giving the team until November 1, 2024 to submit the required documents. If Ripple's lawyers fail to complete the submission by this new deadline, they may be prohibited from presenting their arguments at the upcoming appeal hearing without special court permission. Legal experts such as attorney Fred Rispoli have commented on the matter, arguing that while the impact of missing the submission may seem insignificant, it is still an avoidable mistake, especially considering the high legal fees paid by Ripple.
