Astroport responds to Terra chain security incident: working with other chains and Cosmos builders to determine remediation measures
2024-07-31 07:43
Odaily News Astroport posted on X that the Terra chain has been suspended for emergency upgrades. The attacker exploited the IBC vulnerability to mint several tokens on the Terra chain, including ASTRO. Since the chain has now stopped, new tokens can no longer be minted at this time. Astroport contributors are working with other chains and Cosmos builders to determine what measures can be taken, and new information will be released in a timely manner. As a reminder, beware of any scam information and phishing links. Earlier today, John Galt, head of strategy for Stride, the Cosmos ecosystem, posted on X that a hacker has used the recent Astroport code to mint tens of millions of ASTROs out of thin air on Neutron, and has sold 15 million ASTROs, with 39 million ASTROs available for sale at the address.
