Taiko responds to L2 high fee issue: Additional delegate call costs increase, and it will take 40-60 days to improve
2024-06-09 04:03
Odaily News In response to community feedback that the Taiko Protocol is more expensive than other L2 networks, Taiko responded on the X platform and explained that the Taiko Protocol involves more logic and storage, and the current implementation uses several upgradeable proxies, which adds additional delegate call costs. In addition, on-chain blocks are not proposed or proven in batches, and proposers interact more frequently with Ethereum to compete for block space and ensure on-chain activity, but the on-chain ring buffer has not been exhausted, which makes storage writes more expensive. This situation will take about 40 to 60 days to improve. Decentralization and permissionlessness have a price. If there are a large number of transactions on L2, the Rollup-based solution is still viable and profitable for block proposers and provers, especially when using MEV. Taiko is committed to further optimization and hopes that others will be interested in the code base and help improve it. Taiko's Trailblazers project will incentivize block proposers.
