Consensys lawyer: Uniswap class action judge ruled that Ethereum is a commodity, not a security

Odaily News ConsenSys lawyer Bill Hughes posted on Hughes added that there was no analysis in the ruling, only conclusions, but argued it was still a fairly clear statement. In addition, the judgment document also implies that Wrapped BTC is a commodity, but does not explicitly state this. Previously, a judge in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York dismissed a class action lawsuit against Uniswap and Paradigm. The plaintiffs tried to hold these companies responsible for the fraudulent tokens sold on Uniswap AMM. Community members commented that the judge’s dismissal of the class action largely means that protocol developers should not be held liable for the misconduct of third parties.
