MiCA Regulator Stefan Berger to Lead Digital Euro Legislation

Odaily News European Parliament member Stefan Berger will lead the development of new legislation to support the digital euro. Stefan Berger was one of the architects and chief negotiator of MiCA, the EUs landmark encryption regulation. Berger will act as a drafter, proposing amendments to the relevant draft laws, which other lawmakers can make their own amendments and vote on. At a later stage, he will be in charge of negotiations with the European Council to produce a unified version of the text. It is reported that the European Central Bank has not yet formally decided whether to issue a CBDC, but has invested a lot of resources in technical planning. (CoinDesk)
