Odaily News: The French privacy regulatory agency, CNIL, stated on Friday that it is monitoring the Worldcoin project and there appear to be "issues" with the legality of its biometric data collection.
"Worldcoin collects data in France, and CNIL has initiated an investigation," CNIL said in an email.
The supervisory authority added that CNIL's investigation reveals that the authorities in the Bavarian state of Germany have jurisdiction and, with CNIL's support, Bavarian authorities have been conducting an investigation. (Reuters)
Earlier on July 25, the Information Commissioner's Office, the data regulatory agency in the UK, stated that it will conduct further inquiries into the Worldcoin project.
