Yesterday, it was announced that the joint investigation team for virtual asset crimes has been officially established in South Korea. During the inauguration ceremony, Prosecutor General Lee Won-sik stated that the team's establishment is aimed at helping the early-stage virtual asset market to not shrink, eliminating risks, stabilizing its foundation, enhancing transparency and credibility, protecting market participants, and promoting national economic development. Strengthening the response to virtual asset crimes is a global trend, as the U.S. Department of Justice also has a virtual asset enforcement division.
