Odaily News: Music NFT platform Sound.xyz has completed a $20 million Series A funding round, with a16z Crypto leading the investment. Palm Tree Crew, A Capital, Sound Ventures, Collab +Currency, Scalar Capital, Snoop Dogg, Ryan Tedder, and Tay Keith also participated in the funding. Co-founder David Greenstein stated, "This funding will provide us with the resources to grow our team and further realize our vision." He added that Sound.xyz has not disclosed its valuation.
Furthermore, Sound.xyz has also launched its Web3 minting tool. It allows artists to mint and sell music as NFTs. The platform is built on the Ethereum blockchain and utilizes the ERC-721A token standard.
On June 12th, Sound.xyz added support for Optimism to reduce gas fees and speed up transaction times. Users can purchase music using ETH or credit cards. (Source: The Block)
