Odaily News: Layer 1 blockchain Ziliqa announced that its mainnet will be upgraded to version 9.2 at 16:00 on July 5th Beijing time. The upgrade is expected to take about 8 hours (which may extend up to 24 hours). During the upgrade, Ziliqa network will not process transactions, and deposits and withdrawals will be suspended.
This upgrade will introduce multiple enhancements and new features, aiming to optimize performance and strengthen cross-chain functionality. One key improvement is enhancing interoperability between EVM and Scilla, simplifying the creation, testing, and launching of alternative tokens using ERC-20 and ZRC-2 smart contracts to facilitate seamless cross-chain interactions. Enhanced functionalities also include expanding test coverage for third-party EVM contracts and full backward compatibility with all existing Scilla contracts in version 0.13.3. Additionally, the upgrade includes various bug fixes, improvements in server-side resilience, and enhancements to overall network performance, enabling developers to introduce advanced search and tracking capabilities, as well as expanded developer platform support.
