Market Analysis: Fed Officials Note Increased Stability in the April Labor Market
Odaily reported that market analysts stated one factor supporting the Fed's more hawkish outlook is the improving signals from the labor market. At the Fed's March meeting, officials had the latest data from the poor February employment report. According to the March meeting minutes, many officials were concerned at the time that "labor market conditions appeared vulnerable to adverse shocks." However, based on the latest April meeting minutes released, by the time of the April meeting, Fed officials had already received the more optimistic March report, with most viewing the data as evidence of stabilization. Following the Fed's April meeting, the strong April employment report released earlier this month further demonstrates that the labor market may be stabilizing. (Jin Shi)
