Odaily星球日报讯 Iranian officials have stated that they will finalize a new agreement with Oman regarding shipping arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz. Abbas Godarzi, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament's Presiding Committee, said that after more than a month of negotiations, Iran and Oman are close to finalizing a new shipping arrangement agreement for the Strait of Hormuz. The proposed declaration includes adjustments to shipping routes through the strait.

In addition, Godarzi stated that the negotiations were conducted only between Iran and Oman, and the United States was not permitted to participate. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Gharibabadi said on the 5th that the agreement between Iran and Oman regarding the passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz is close to being finalized, and at that time both the northern waterway controlled by Iran and the southern waterway near Oman will be closed.
