Citrini Analyst: China’s CXMT Testing Bonded DRAM Trial Production Line, Korean Media Suggests Its Technology and Development Speed May Surpass Korean Rivals
Odaily News, Citrini analyst jukan posted on X platform, stating that Korean media reports indicate China's CXMT is currently testing a bonded DRAM trial production line in Hefei, aiming to achieve high-performance DRAM without using EUV lithography. Bonded DRAM is a technology where memory cell arrays and peripheral circuits are manufactured on separate wafers and then bonded together. This method allows ultra-high-density DRAM to be produced using only multi-patterned deep ultraviolet (DUV) lithography, without the need for EUV equipment.
Samsung Electronics is developing its own bonded DRAM under the "B1b" project, while SK hynix is also advancing similar technology. Korean media warns that some assessments suggest CXMT may currently be ahead of its Korean competitors in both the technology itself and development speed.
