In the video, a narrator introduces: "Invite your community into a world that recognizes and rewards loyalty." In the video, a woman on a skateboard turns into a Doodles NFT after passing through a pastel-colored entrance.
“Token holders connect crypto wallets to unlock exclusive shopping experiences, from early access to NFT releases and limited-edition collectibles, to one-of-a-kind experiences and other surprises,” the video explains.
Shopify's "gm" store (Gated Merchandise, an acronym for "good morning" on Crypto Twitter) is currently in beta, and only those holding an existing collection of NFTs are eligible to apply for early access.
However, those who haven't yet been approved can still add a Shopify store in an NFT-gated app like Shopthru or Single.Shopify revealed that it has partnered with the Adam Bomb Squad, Doodles, World of Women, Invisible Friends, Superplastic, Stapleverse and Cool Cats NFT series to create token-gated stores. It is worth mentioning that in March this year, Shopify replaced its Twitter avatar with Doodles NFT works and Space Doodles works.
And in December, Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke tweeted

Its ENS domain name also replaced its Twitter avatar with a CryptoPunks NFT work.
Why is this important? First, it means that the future of Web3 shopping is about "exclusivity". While NFTs are often oversimplified as digital art or “jpgs,” these unique blockchain tokens that denote ownership of assets are increasingly being used as membership passes, event tickets, and “keys” to unlock privileges.AnnounceThis isn't Shopify's first foray into the NFT space, and the company has actually been in the Web3 industry for a while.
AnnounceAnnounce, the company now allows merchants on its platform to sell NFTs directly through its store. Before that, its merchants had to sell NFTs through third-party marketplaces. One of the first Shopify merchants to offer NFTs will be the NBA's Chicago Bulls, which has launched a "Legacy Collection" series of NFTs that includes the team's six championship rings.
