Odaily星球日报讯 According to public market data, “The Big Short” investor Michael Burry established short positions in NVIDIA (NVDA), Applied Materials (AMAT), and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index ETF (SOXX) on June 30, and began directly shorting Micron Technology in early July.

As of the U.S. stock market close on July 28, the floating profit on the AMAT short position was approximately 34.7%, SOXX approximately 23.3%, Micron Technology approximately 22.0%, and NVIDIA approximately 0.5%. Without considering position weights, the simple average floating profit of the semiconductor short portfolio established from late June to early July was approximately 20.1%.

Furthermore, based on the estimated additional short positions at the closing price on July 24, as of the close on July 28, the floating profit on the increased short positions for Micron Technology, NVIDIA, and SOXX were approximately 10.9%, 4.8%, and 6.4% respectively, with a simple average of approximately 7.4%.

Due to the lack of specific information on the scale of short positions, option structures, proportion of added positions, and whether positions have been closed, the actual profit amount cannot be calculated.
