Odaily Planet Daily News, July 25th – A Reddit user discovered hundreds of fully readable shared Claude conversations by searching "site:claude.ai/share" on Google. The relevant content includes sensitive information such as cryptocurrency wallet seed phrases, suspected Social Security numbers, and legal discussions.
The issue arose because Anthropic did not add the noindex meta tag to the Claude sharing page. While its robots.txt file blocks crawling of Claude's shared URLs, Google could still index the pages when shared links appeared on public websites.
The same issue also affected Claude's public artifacts, including apps, dashboards, and financial tools created by users within Claude. Search results once displayed a payroll table containing employee names, internal CRM chat exports, and an unreleased product roadmap.
Before July 26th, after Anthropic updated its configuration and added the noindex tag, Google began removing Claude-related results. Bing still shows some shared links; a GitHub repository has archived 453 Claude conversations and 519 Grok conversations, totaling 11,241 plaintext messages.
