Spanish regulators clarify that the MiCA transition period will not be extended, and unlicensed crypto platforms must exit the EU by the end of June
Odaily Planet Daily News: Carlos San Basilio, Chairman of the Spanish Securities Market Regulator (CNMV), stated that there will be no extensions or exemptions for the licensing transition period under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), including for platforms like Binance that have not yet obtained MiCA authorization. Crypto companies without a license must exit the EU market by the end of June. The CNMV stated that it is communicating with relevant platforms regarding exit arrangements to ensure the orderly transfer of client assets and to protect investor rights. It also reminded that after the transition period ends, new transactions conducted by investors on unauthorized platforms will no longer be protected under the MiCA framework. (Reuters)
