Already in use, Swift blockchain-based ledger is expected to connect at least 19 banks by the end of the year

Odaily report: Swift CEO Javier Pérez-Tasso stated at Sibos 2026 that Swift's blockchain-based ledger is already in use, with some of the world's largest financial institutions using it.

It is expected that by the end of this year, at least 19 banks will connect to the ledger, enabling round-the-clock payments through tokenized deposits covering 5 major currencies. Swift announced the development of this ledger last year.
