In the week of January 12th, new addresses reached 2.7 million, 170% higher than the usual level, with daily transaction volume exceeding 2.5 million. The Fusaka network upgrade in December reduced transaction fees by over 60%, lowering the cost for such large-scale spam attacks. Currently, 3.8 million addresses have received such dust assets in their first transaction, accounting for 67% of new addresses. So far, 116 victims have lost over $740,000 due to these attacks.
According to PeckShieldAlert monitoring, makinafi has been exploited for approximately 1,299 ETH, valued at around $4.13 million. The hacking process was front-run by an MEV Builder (0xa6c2...). The stolen funds are currently held in two addresses: 0xbed2...dE25 holds $3.3 million, and 0x573d...910e holds $880,000.
