ZKsync to Officially Deprecate ZKsync Lite on May 4, Projects Integrated into Era Ecosystem
Odaily reports that ZKsync has announced it will officially deprecate ZKsync Lite on May 4, ceasing block production and permanently freezing the network's final state. Launched as ZKsync 1.0 in June 2020, ZKsync Lite is considered Ethereum's first zero-knowledge proof rollup, but it does not support smart contract functionality. Matter Labs stopped development on Lite after launching the zkEVM ZKsync Era, which supports arbitrary smart contracts, in March 2023.
The team stated that this deprecation does not affect Era or other chains built on the ZK Stack framework. A read-only API will be retained for at least one year post-shutdown to support data access. Users are advised to withdraw their assets before May 4; unwithdrawn funds can still be claimed afterward.
According to L2BEAT data, approximately $33.9 million in assets remain locked on ZKsync Lite via the canonical bridge, including approximately $24.9 million in stablecoins, $8.4 million in ETH and derivatives, $313,000 in BTC and derivatives, and $231,000 in other assets.
CME Group Plans to List AVAX and Sui Futures Contracts on May 4, 24/7 Trading to Begin May 29

Odaily reports that according to Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart, the first batch of prediction market ETFs in the US may launch next week. Roundhill has submitted updated documents to the US Securities and Exchange Commission, planning for its six prediction market ETFs to become effective on May 5. The products will be designed around event contracts related to the US presidential and congressional elections.
