DogeCon 2025: Enhancing the Usability of PoW Public Chains with Solana

Guests from the Solana Foundation, Bitmain, Litecoin, Wormhole, Meteora, Orca, G20, Metaplex, and Psy Protocol have confirmed their attendance and will deliver speeches. Planet Daily will also be a media partner for this conference.

Psy Protocol has announced that DogeCon will be held in Abu Dhabi on December 11, 2025, concurrently with Solana Breakpoint. This year's agenda brings together leaders in the PoW and PoS fields, with Solana Foundation Chair Lily Liu and Bitmain Ecosystem Head Miranda Ma taking the stage to discuss how Solana can enhance the usability of PoW public chains.

DogeCon 2025 will highlight several important technological advancements, including the highly anticipated Solana and Dogecoin cross-chain bridge developed by Psy Protocol, as well as a full-featured Dogecoin light node demonstration running on Solana, enabling trustless communication between Doge and Solana via Wormhole.

This innovation introduces PoW security to Solana, while also enabling Dogecoin, the world's largest meme token, to integrate into Solana's dApps ecosystem. Solana and Dogecoin can now directly "communicate," with both chains able to independently verify each other's transactions and consensus without needing to trust a third party.

DogeCon will be held from 1 PM to 6 PM at the Hilton Hotel. The conference aims to bring together developers of the next generation of the Dogecoin ecosystem, providing a space for learners, exchange ideas, and collaborate on building next-generation applications on Dogecoin, jointly promoting the future development of the Dogecoin ecosystem. This year's event will feature keynote speeches and roundtable discussions from several top builders in the Dogecoin ecosystem. The previous DogeCon was held in Bangkok in November 2024, concurrently with the DevCon developer conference, marking the first time thousands of Dogecoin enthusiasts were gathered in the same venue.

For the entire industry to achieve large-scale development, the ideological divide between Proof of Work (PoW) and Proof of Stake (PoS) must end. PoW public chains like Dogecoin, with their deep security and decentralized nature, can fully leverage Solana's high-speed processing capabilities, low-cost transaction finality, and rich application ecosystem. In return, PoS networks can instantly access the massive, proven market liquidity based on Dogecoin's market capitalization of over $35 billion and benefit from the stronger security of the PoW mechanism, effectively mitigating the systemic risks associated with centralized validator nodes.

The key to advancing PoW applications lies in the cross-chain bridge from Solana to Dogecoin, which provides a programmable execution layer without altering the latter's consensus mechanism. This innovation transforms Dogecoin into a global, decentralized asset settlement layer—transactions are both guaranteed by the PoW mechanism and efficiently executed through the Solana virtual machine. PoW assets can now participate in complex DeFi, smart agent payments, and NFT minting in high-speed environments, unlocking new, censorship-resistant business models for the Dogecoin ecosystem.
