On February 22nd, Beijing time, the recently controversial Yuga Labs ushered in a major personnel change - co-founder Garga.eth (Greg Solano) announced that he would return as the CEO of Yuga Labs.
On the occasion of regaining control of Yuga Labs (seeOn the day Yuga acquired PROOF, the Boring Ape was dethroned by the Fat Penguin), Garga.eth published an open letter on the

I will once again serve as CEO of Yuga Labs.
Wylie (another co-founder of Yuga Labs, often nicknamed Gordon Goner) and I are very grateful to Daniel (Daniel Alegre, the former CEO of Garga.eth) for his contribution to Yuga Labs, and also thank him for what he has given us in the past year. guide. I am excited to once again be at the helm of the company as we move into a new chapter.
Looking to the future of Yuga Labs,We need to operate in a more crypto-native way across the company.Wylie and I consider a few things to be top priorities:
The first thing is about the development of BAYC.
Thank you everyone for attending the first Bored Meeting last weekend. in short,Our view of BAYC is that the value of BAYC lies in its online community. That’s why ApeFest is so special, why Made by Apes’ work has exploded in popularity, why the club itself is so popular, and why BAYC is able to partner with some of the world’s top brands.
Within Yuga Labs, we want to give the BAYC team as much freedom as possible to develop their vision. It requires more concentration and more flexibility in operating space so that it can do all of the above and create more of the amazing things weve done before.
Focus and flexibility require autonomy, and we have already taken the first step -BAYC LLC will be formed as a subsidiary of Yuga Labs and will be responsible for all matters related to BAYC.The BAYC team already has a number of great members, but there are still some key positions waiting for the right candidate.
The second thing is about the development of Otherside.
In our conception,Otherside should become the living room of Web3, a default space for everyone to play and socialize (no matter which community you belong to).
Otherside is a brave endeavor, and we still have a lot of work to do. Only if everyone participates and experiences it more often can we build it better together. As we built Otherside, our vision was to keep it open and capable of continuous iteration. I’m very confident in the work the team is doing to get back on the program and we will start strengthening community communications this week, starting with the Apes Come Home event. In the coming year, we will also increase the frequency of communication with the community.
The third thing is about game development.
We need to focus more on game modes that work for Yuga Labs. For us, the following two strategies are required:
The first is to create crazy and interesting gameplay so that everyone with a childish heart can enjoy the game. The crazier, the better, and the more popular, the better, just like Dookey Dash. We want to open up channels for millions of new users to flood into our ecosystem and create opportunities for creators, IP holders, and professional players. I’m excited to see this progress with our partner Faraway, a game development studio.
The second is to build crypto-native game mechanisms and platforms, such as [redacted] (a confidential game mentioned in the BAYC roadmap).
It’s been three years since Yuga Labs was founded, and we couldn’t be more excited about the many plans to come. I am so grateful to every member of every brand team here. We still have a lot of work to do, and without this team, without this community of builders, we wouldnt be able to realize our vision. thanks for your support.
For those of you who will be attending NFT Paris, I will meet you there.
