The modular settlement layer project Dymension finally ushered in the long-awaited mainnet creation day today.
As a new project that leads another narrative under the modular track, coupled with the previous large-scale low-threshold airdrop of DYM to multiple ecological users, Dymensions popularity in the community has continued to rise recently.
Earlier today, Binance also announced that DYM is tentatively scheduled to be listed at 23:00. “Modularization + large-scale airdrops + fast support on Binance”, it seems that DYM is heading towards TIA’s legendary script.
However, while the community was eagerly anticipating it, Dymensions own mainnet creation unexpectedly encountered a failure.
The first person to disclose the anomaly on social media was Jake Lee, the founder of rug.ai. Jake said on the X platform at around 21:00 tonight:“The Dymension mainnet is actually online, but the verification nodes have not yet reached a consensus. This is because there is a faulty verification node Chorus One in the verification node set, which has 34.8% of the delegation weight of the pledged tokens.”

According to Odailys inquiry, Chorus One is a multi-chain PoS verification service provider involved in more than 50 blockchains, and should have rich experience in PoS verification.
In addition to Jake Lee, StakeRelax, another multi-chain PoS verification service provider that participated in the launch of the Dymension mainnet, also stated on the X platform at around 22:00:“After the Dymension mainnet went online, the chain stopped at block height 2 (consistent with the information in Jake’s map). The reason was that a verification node had more than 33% of the verification weight from the beginning. This problem will definitely be solved. Please be patient. pending upgrade.

However, the problem did not last long. Shortly after StakeRelax updated the information,Enigma, a multi-chain PoS verification service provider active in the Cosmos ecosystem, stated on the X platform at 22:28 that Dymension has resumed block production and the mainnet has been online.

Later verified by Odaily,Multiple Dymension block explorers show that the network has resumed block production, which also means that the Dymension mainnet has been successfully launched and is continuing to operate.

Afterwards, Chorus One, the core player in the abnormal mainnet creation accident, posted an article on the X platform to explain the incident.
Chorus One said at 10:38:“The team is solving an unknown problem, which caused the abnormal startup of the Dymension mainnet about 2 hours ago. The current status is that all validators are coordinating a restart. Once the problem is solved, Chorus One will join the mainnet immediately.”

Chorus One added that it is currently not sure what problem caused the abnormal situation. Why is the community generally paying attention to Chorus One? There are two reasons. One is that there is some unknown problem with the software of Chorus One and several other validator nodes, but we did follow all the guidelines issued by the Dymension team... The other is that Chorus One has too many in the genesis block As for the pledge weight, Chorus One was originally an early supporter of Dymension. Other early investors did not make a genesis pledge, which resulted in Chorus One owning 34% of the pledge weight at the time of creation.
Let me simply translate these two sentences for you. The first sentence says We all follow the rules, and we are not the only ones who have problems. The second sentence says It is not surprising that the pledge weight is too high. Other nodes are just moving slowly”…
Fortunately,This genesis anomaly did not have much impact. After about two hours of chaos, the Dymension mainnet was finally successfully launched.
However, perhaps out of caution,Binance has announced that it will postpone the launch of DYM to 1:00 tomorrow morning, it remains to be seen whether this twist will have an impact on the communitys previous heated sentiment.

It is worth mentioning that after the Dymension mainnet resumed normal operation, users can already perform DYM transfer operations (such as depositing to Binance). However, many users have said that they will encounter various errors when trying to initiate transactions. If you encounter this problem, you may as well Try switching RPC to solve it.
Aevo data shows that the current pre-launch contract of DYM on the platform is temporarily quoted at $3.88. After Binance goes online, how will DYM develop? Lets wait for another hour or so.
