October 9
Odaily News According to Ming Pao, Hong Kong Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong Chairman Li Huiqiong, Election Committee Member Chen Zhongni and Accounting Member Huang Junshuo jointly wrote to the Hong Kong Financial Affairs Committee stating that the JPEX incident is serious and requested to be added to the agenda of the October 9 meeting. To discuss the JPEX incident, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission will also attend to provide further explanation.
Odaily News Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart tweeted that Bitwise submitted an updated application document to update its BITC from Bitcoin Futures ETF to Bitwise Bitcoin and Ether Equal Weight Strategy ETF (Bitcoin + Ether Equal Weight Strategy ETF) ) with an effective date of October 9, 2023.
October 10
Former Alameda Research CEO may testify in SBF trial next Tuesday
Odaily News Caroline Ellison, the former CEO of hedge fund Alameda Research, is likely to be the next witness to testify in the SBF trial, replacing former FTX executive Gary Wang.
After the trial ended early Friday, the U.S. Department of Justice said Gary Wangs testimony would wrap up on Tuesday, and prosecutors expected the next witness to be Ellison. Like Gary Wang, Ellison pleaded guilty to multiple fraud charges in December.
The court will not be in session next Monday for Columbus Day and will resume Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. ET. (CoinDesk)
Circle: Native USDC to be launched on Polygon PoS on October 10th
Odaily News Circle announced that it will launch native USDC on Polygon PoS on October 10, starting the transition from bridging USDC for ecosystem DApps, developers and users.
Circle stated that it will stop supporting bridged USDC deposits and withdrawals through Circle accounts and its APIs on November 10. Circle accounts and their APIs will only support native USDC at that time.
Pending the launch of native USDC, the Ethereum bridge form of USDC on block explorers such as PolygonScan will be renamed USDC.e. Ecosystem DApps will also be contacted to make corresponding modifications to their application UI and documentation.
Circle reminds that after November 10th, users should no longer send bridged USDC.e to their Circle accounts, as it may be unrecoverable and result in the loss of funds.
Yuga Labs launches CryptoPunks documentary, the first episode will air on October 10
Odaily News Yuga Labs announced that it will cooperate with Zak Group to launch the Punks As Told By CryptoPunks documentary series. The first episode will be broadcast on October 10, 2023.

Binance will delist and cease BETH trading pair on October 11

The U.S. SEC and Binance.US holding company BAM will hold a hearing on October 12
Odaily News A Washington, D.C., district judge has encouraged Binance and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to work together to push for more information about how Binance.US handles customer assets. BAM, the holding company of Binance.US, said the SEC’s document requirements were “overly broad and onerous.”
The SEC and BAM agreed to hold a hearing on October 12 and submit a joint status report by October 10. (The Block)
According to Odaily’s official announcement, Binance continues to evaluate its products and services to ensure a high-quality experience for all users. Based on the results of the recent review, Binance Futures will adjust the funding rate settlement frequency of some U-based perpetual contracts from every eight hours to every four hours at 16:00 on October 12 (Eastern Time).
Odaily News Optimism posted on the X platform that Optimism is starting the process of establishing a security council, which will move it towards a more decentralized super chain network. Seeking community feedback on the first in a series of governance recommendations to establish the council.
Optimism said the establishment of the Security Council underlines Optimism’s commitment to decentralization.
Optimism said it will put forward a governance proposal aimed at adding the Security Council as a signatory to the multisig that controls OP mainnet protocol upgrades. The full Security Council will consist of at least eight members, with a 75% signature threshold, and will be implemented through a series of governance votes. During this initial phase, the Security Council will become a co-signatory of the multi-signature. This means it will be a 2/2 signer of the current OP mainnet multisig.
Later, follow-up governance proposals will be proposed, with multi-signatures specifically transferred to the Security Council. On October 12, Token House will vote on whether to approve this change to the OP mainnet security model. Upcoming TH votes include votes to approve the initial membership of the Security Council, as well as votes on protocol upgrades needed to fully implement the Council.
China Mobile Migu Video’s first NFT Meelier will be sold on Opensea on October 12
According to official news from Odaily, China Mobile Migu Video announced on its official Weibo that its first NFT Meelier will be sold globally during the Asian Games.
The first NFT launched by Meelier will be officially launched globally on October 12. This NFT is based on the character in the popular mobile game Panda Cafe and will be sold on Opensea in the form of a blind box, with a global limited edition of 2,000.
October 13
The SEC hopes to question Do Kwon, who is asking the court to reject the request, by Oct. 13
Odaily News A document filed with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Wednesday showed that Terraform Labs founder Do Kwon has asked the federal court to reject the SEC’s request to question him in the United States regarding the collapse of Terra and Luna.
Separately, Do Kwons lawyers objected to Do Kwons testimony to U.S. regulators and said his extradition to the U.S. was impossible as he remains detained indefinitely in Montenegro. He also cannot provide written testimony to the SEC because it would violate his due process rights under U.S. law.
It is reported that the SEC asked the court last week for permission to question Do Kwon before October 13 regarding the Terra/Luna collapse. (CoinDesk)

Odaily News Metis issued a document on the X platform stating that it will provide compensation to users affected by the PolyNetwork Bridge incident, with a total compensation of 117,000 METIS. Community members whose funds were affected by the attack have until October 14, 2024 to claim their share of rMetis tokens, with rMETIS redeemable for METIS.

According to official news from Odaily, the official registration and submission portal for the Solana Hyperdrive Hackathon has been opened on the global geek sports platform DoraHacks.io. The hackathon is hosted by the Solana Foundation, with a prize pool and seed funding of $1,000,000. In addition, the event also adds an exclusive APAC prize pool of US$30,000 to support outstanding projects in the Asia-Pacific region. Application deadline for the program is October 15.
Developers can register for the hackathon through the Solana official website and submit projects (BUIDL) through the DoraHacks.io hackathon portal.
Odaily News According to official news, the registration entrance for Linera Autumn Developer School 2023 has been opened on the global geek sports platform DoraHacks.io. This hackathon is hosted by Linera, a Layer 1 blockchain protocol, and aims to encourage developers to use the Rust language to build innovative applications based on understanding the Linera SDK. The total hackathon prize pool is $12,500, and project applications are due by October 15th.

Farcaster announces license-free registration next week
Odaily News The decentralized social protocol Farcaster announced that it will implement permission-free registration next week. The first 2,000 Delegate user addresses today can directly qualify for registration. Users can scan the QR code to enter a web page with standard SIWE procedures and pass EIP-712 Signature is verified.
In July last year, Farcaster completed US$30 million in financing, led by a16z, with participation from Standard Crypto and Elad Gil.
