Hello everyone, I am Mr. K. Today we are going to talk about: "How did the blockchain enter China"?
In fact, the time when blockchain technology entered China was mainly after 2010. Because of the outbreak of one incident, the external environment of Bitcoin has been changed. This incident is the WikiLeaks incident. At that time, because the "WikiLeaks" organization leaked the diplomatic cables of the United States, the United States stopped all its fundraising channels, and the organization had to raise funds through Bitcoin.
Although this incident caused Satoshi Nakamoto to leave the world of Bitcoin, this incident did make Bitcoin get out of the original closed circle and began to attract the attention of the world. The price of Bitcoin began to rise rapidly at this node, and the rapidly rising price naturally attracted the attention of the Chinese people. Many Chinese media began to report. At that time, many scientific magazines in street newsstands had reports, such as The earliest veteran IT media "Computer News" introduced Bitcoin and the technical principles behind it in detail. So this has become the starting point for blockchain technology to enter China.
In the early days, people who came into contact with Bitcoin and blockchain technology in China can be divided into two categories. One is idealists who are very passionate about future science and technology. He won the highest award for science fiction in China in 2010, and was hailed as Liu Cixin's successor.
After he came into contact with Bitcoin, he was attracted by Bitcoin's sci-fi attributes and liberalism, and resolutely devoted himself to the blockchain industry, and later created the first domestic blockchain media. It is precisely because of the existence of this group of idealists that there is a solid foundation for domestic Bitcoin and blockchain technology evangelism in the future.
The other category is completely opposite to the former. Most of them belonged to the so-called "Internet addicted teenagers" at that time. At that time, because of the popularity of domestic games, another industry was born, which was power leveling. They make money by reselling in-game resources such as playing game equipment, leveling, and doing tasks. Just at that time, some scientific magazines reported on the blockchain technology and mining tutorials behind Bitcoin. This group of people found that Bitcoin is different from Q coins. It not only has a price but also actively obtains it. So they set their sights on the mining business.
At that time, the price of bitcoin was 2-3 yuan, so they made money by boosting during the day and mining with machines at night, earning double income. In the early days of the domestic blockchain industry, most of the studios opened by these people were the main body, and the main business was CPU mining and brick arbitrage.
But the stage of this barbaric growth in China soon passed. With the appearance of two people, the business of mining was rapidly scaled and commercialized, and opened the door to the next era. The names of these two people are Zhang Nangeng and Roasted Cat. As for their stories , we'll talk about in the next lesson.
Generally speaking, when the blockchain entered China, the initial contact, whether idealists or realists, they all have a common characteristic is young people, whether it is the era that chooses them, or they create the era, that is These young people have become the starting point of China's blockchain industry in the future, laying the foundation for the domestic blockchain industry to be biased towards entities and industries.
