Zhang Jiachen, CEO of Lighttree Technology Dialogue with Kevin Kelly: Prospects for AI, Trusted Computing and BAT Subversives
From May 26th to 29th, the 2019 China International Big Data Industry Expo (hereinafter referred to as "Digital Expo") was jointly sponsored by the Organizing Committee of China International Big Data Industry Expo and CCTV Finance Channel of China Central Radio and Television Station, and undertaken by China Academy of Information and Communications Technology. Meeting") was grandly held in Guiyang.

As an extension of the 2019 Digital Expo Blockchain High-end Dialogue Conference, the Kevin Kelly reading sharing session hosted by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology was held in Zhongshuge, Guiyang on the 27th. Zhang Jiachen, CEO of Light Tree Technology, had a dialogue with Kevin Kelly as a representative of Chinese entrepreneurs. 【Out of control】 regret
Zhang Jiachen:With your unique foresight of technology, you have gained many fans around the world. "Out of Control" was published in 1994. Twenty-five years ago, the book mentioned hot concepts many years later: cloud computing, AR, Internet, sharing economy, etc. Today, 25 years later, looking back, there is not much difference. Such accurate predictions were rare at the time. Looking back today, do you think there is anything that needs to be revised and supplemented in the book "Out of Control"?
KK: That's a good question, and I thought about it, but in the end I didn't see anything to change.
When I was writing "Out of Control", the content was public. For example, I will update on Twitter and write whatever comes to mind. Even last month, I took advantage of my inspiration and updated the content on Twitter.

Zhang Jiachen: In the book "Inevitable", you elaborated on twelve inevitable technological forces, and described how these trends will form a joint force to guide the direction of technological advancement in the next 30 years. I'm curious how the KK prediction reference data is obtained? It enables it to accurately predict the technological trend 30 years later.
KK: Not everything is predictable. For example, the characteristics of different companies cannot be achieved, but what is certain is the general direction of the future development of the entire system. We are good at summarizing laws. For example, we can draw conclusions: Whether it is an ecology or a system, similar patterns may continue to appear. When we detect these patterns, it is actually easy to estimate the future trend. This is what I The basis for predicting the future, even in our lives, there are actually such development paths for reference.
In fact, our life and life are to continuously create new thinking or thinking patterns. Although human technology cannot create thinking, I am sure it needs this thinking pattern. "

"Human and AI teamwork is the future"
Zhang Jiachen: Everyone knows that artificial intelligence is the technology that KK is most concerned about. What is the future of artificial intelligence?
KK: What mankind is facing now is a digital Internet world. Data can allow us to work together and attract large-scale multi-persons to work together. For example, one million people may carry out online collaborative work in real time. Build a mechanism of trust. The possibility of achieving collaboration in the future is for us to attract mutual trust. In a sense, blockchain and cryptocurrency are both a collaborative tool that can carry out large-scale work. This large-scale is unprecedented. Teamwork between humans and AI is the way of the future.
Data Privacy and Data Use Concerns: Federated Learning and Trusted Computing to Help
Zhang Jiachen: Light Tree Technology provides secure multi-party computing technology based on blockchain, which aims to help data parties conduct credible data collaboration without exposing the original data, so that data is available and invisible, and solves the problem of data islands. Big data is the means of production for AI. How do you see the future trend of the balance between data value and privacy?
KK: This question is difficult to answer. Regarding data privacy, I think our lives may be monitored in the future. This monitoring behavior may come from mobile phones, or cameras, etc. This is a big problem. In this field, we can analyze and seek solutions from multiple dimensions. At present, the harm of data privacy to people will not be solved in the short term.
Regarding the balance between data value and privacy, we can place our hope in the future. I firmly believe that with the development of technology, there will be a high-tech application that can help us record life data and at the same time protect our privacy. Concepts such as secure multi-party computing, differential privacy, and federated computing based on blockchain are technical solutions. We can extract the characteristics of the data and then gather all the results together, but it can provide better privacy protection.

The next generation of giants subverting BAT has emerged
Zhang Jiachen: As early as 7 years ago, you came to China and had a dialogue with Ma Huateng, the founder of Tencent. At that time, Ma Huateng asked: "Who do you think will surpass Tencent?" Today, seven years later, I revisit this question: Who will overthrow a giant like BAT? What will be your answer?
KK: The first-generation digital platform is a network, which gathers all the information and uses many hyperlinks to achieve the purpose of machine readability. Such a search engine product is led by giants like Facebook and Baidu. The second generation of digital platforms is social media. It connects all kinds of interpersonal relationships, and it connects all people, related giants like Weibo and WeChat. The third-generation platform will subvert traditional giants such as BAT. Disruptors are likely to appear in the field of digital twins, and will be the key entrance of the third-generation platform after portals and social networks.
We will digitize everything in the world. The disruptor is likely here now, in a very early stage of development, and won't be widely noticed until a decade from now. I don't think the so-called third-generation "big players" will be technology giants such as Baidu, Google, and Alibaba themselves.
