15th Anniversary Edition Released: Electrum 4.8.4 Fixes Multiple Wallet Security Issues

Odaily reports that Bitcoin News posted on X that Electrum has released version 4.8.4, its 15th anniversary edition, which fixes multiple security vulnerabilities and bugs affecting Bitcoin and Lightning Network wallets. One important fix involves a Lightning Network vulnerability: malformed onion messages from arbitrary sources could cause Electrum to disconnect from channel peers. This version also fixes wallet freezing, transaction processing issues, and crash issues affecting desktop and Android users. This is Electrum's fourth security update since August, and users can upgrade to version 4.8.4.
