Nvidia goods worth over 76 million yuan mysteriously disappear

Odaily reports: Police in Oakland, California, are currently investigating a cargo theft case involving tech company Nvidia. The stolen items are AI chips and computer hardware, valued at up to $11.4 million (approximately 76.1 million yuan). Analysts say this may be a carefully planned theft targeting a high-tech company. According to the case details, a truck loaded with Nvidia cargo departed from Oakland, California, on August 29 of this year, destined for Fort Worth, Texas. The pickup process followed the original arrangements, but the truck ultimately lost contact. The victim reported the case to police on September 13.

Police tracking found that the truck made multiple stops along the way, with single stops lasting several hours, and was ultimately lost in San Bernardino County in southeastern California. As of now, police have not arrested any suspects. Experts also noted that these chips sell for nearly twice the U.S. domestic price outside the United States, and the possibility that the stolen goods have already been transported out of the country cannot be ruled out. It is reported that this is not the first time Nvidia has encountered a cargo theft incident. Experts say the scale and complexity of such cases indicate that the criminal methods involved are becoming increasingly professionalized, and the transportation security risks of high-value tech products are gradually becoming more prominent.
