The injunction applies only to the plaintiffs' tribal lands; Kalshi may not offer contracts for multiple types of sports events
Odaily reports that on November 4, U.S. District Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley of the Northern District of California granted a preliminary injunction requested by California tribes, prohibiting Kalshi Inc. and KalshiEX from offering sports event contracts on the plaintiffs' Indian lands. The injunction covers contracts for baseball, tennis, soccer, basketball, golf, esports, auto racing, boxing, and UFC, and applies only to the plaintiffs' tribal lands, not to the entire state of California. Kalshi previously said it had proactively blocked trading in the relevant areas, while the tribes questioned the effectiveness of those blocking measures. Under the injunction, the tribes must provide boundary maps by November 13, and Kalshi must report its compliance steps within 21 days.
