Fed and OCC Probe U.S. Banking System Security Risks Following Binance's $6.3 Billion Hack
Odaily Report: The U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed) and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) have begun contacting banks to inquire about any anomalous activity or service disruptions, in order to assess the banking system security risks that may have been exposed following Binance's recent $6.3 billion hack.
Sources familiar with the matter revealed that several U.S. banks are examining their own cybersecurity systems, with one major bank already preparing an internal report to assess whether security measures need to be upgraded.
Binance stated that it is maintaining close contact with global regulators and continuously reporting on the incident's progress. Currently, there is no evidence indicating that the U.S. banking system has been affected by this attack. (Reuters)
