US stock index futures rebound, market focuses on midterm elections and tech giants' earnings

Odaily reports: According to MSX.COM data, US stock index futures rose on Monday, with tech stocks and AI-related shares stabilizing after a dismal October, as investors shifted their attention to the US midterm elections and a new wave of密集 corporate earnings releases. The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 Index shed more than $2.5 trillion in market value last month, at one point nearing the threshold of a technical correction.

Investors are concerned about the growing AI spending by large tech companies while awaiting evidence that such investments will deliver higher returns. Recently, several companies have also issued bonds to fund these investments, further intensifying market concerns about debt-financed spending. As borrowing costs rise, it may become increasingly difficult to justify such expenditures. Seth Meyer, Head of Global Client Portfolio Management at Janus Henderson Investors, said: "Midterm elections are typically unfavorable for the ruling party. If Democrats win the House, the US will return to a divided government, but such a situation is not uncommon."
