SpaceX COO: Will Donate Over 2 Million SpaceX Shares to Trump Accounts, First Batch of Funds to Be Distributed in December

Odaily reports: SpaceX Chief Operating Officer Gwynne Shotwell stated that she will donate more than 2 million SpaceX shares to fund "Trump Accounts" for children. The first batch of donated shares is currently being transferred to an escrow account and is expected to be distributed in December. The first batch of beneficiaries will be children aged 11 to 17 living in ZIP code areas where the median household income does not exceed $57,000, as well as children in areas with populations too small to calculate a median household income. Affected families are expected to be notified by Monday.

Shotwell also stated that additional donations will be finalized in the coming weeks, covering children aged 11 to 17 in families of military personnel serving overseas, foster children, and more children living in counties surrounding SpaceX headquarters in Texas where the median household income does not exceed $90,000. She thanked the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Internal Revenue Service, the Dell Foundation, and other institutions and relevant teams for their support in advancing the program.
